Last week, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan signed a series of executive orders that will, among other things, add a chief data officer and chief privacy officer to state government. The orders, signed at the conclusion of a cybersecurity summit held by his office, will task a privacy officer with the development and implementation of statewide guidelines for data protection.
